FYI my dad died on Tuesday.
This is my final blog post. There are more important things to do than sit at a computer half the night blogging.
Time to move on and re-evaluate my own life.
Sorry to cut things dead like this but it seems appropriate under the circumstances. My heart just isn't in it any more.
There's no self pity or depression. Just glad there's no more pain and distress.
I'm fine and so is my family. We knew it was coming and it's just a relief it's now over.
Thanks for following. But for the moment i shall be spending more time offline than on.
All the best
Mambam ;-)

Oh Michael, I am so sorry to hear this. You and your Mum and all your family have my condolences. I pray that your Dad is with God in a better life, and that all of you will be consoled in what is a loss for you even though you know it is a relief for him.
You know that I love you and I wish you all the best. It has been good having the opportunity to get to know you to the extent blogging makes it possible. You are a highly intelligent young man, and I'm sure you can have a good life.
I'll keep this blog among those I follow, and if you ever decide to come back, I'll be delighted to hear from you.
Once more, all my best wishes, and may God bless you richly.
Michael,
I wish there was something I could say that would make it better. I am very sorry for your loss. I know your Dad is out of pain and suffering but I know it is much tougher on those left. Please take good care of your Mother and yourself.
I have really enjoyed keeping up with your exploits through your blog. Hopefully one day you will consider it again. I, too, will keep a look out for you.
All the best to you and your Mom.
Andy

Dear Michael,
I'm so sorry to hear this news.
I'm really crap at this especially irl, all I can do is send my heartfelt condolences and best wishes for you and your Mum.
I shall miss your irreverent wit, take care.

PS This might seem irrelevant now given your present situation, but it has always seemed to me that you are someone who needs to write. You are observant and funny and you know instinctively how to structure a story. Don't abandon the blog - there are plenty of people who'll be waiting for your return once this awful fact has been accommodated. XXX
With a heart full of feeling I send you my condolences and offer you this little message of care and farewell.
I've enjoyed the tales you told, the life you lived. I wish you much happiness and joy in your life from here on in. You know how highly you were thought of, here in the blogging world.
Dear Michael - Sorry to hear your sad news, always a shock even if expected. Take care of yourself, take time out, hope to read about you again some time - Peter-D.
Thinking of you. Keep the best memories.

Hello Michael
I'm sorry to hear of your loss, and sorry that you've decided to call it a day with your blog, but I can certainly understand why you've made that decision, and why now. I would like to wish you and your family all the besst for the future.
Love & best wishes
Sammy B
I'm so sorry to hear about your dad, Mambam. Wishing you the best in whatever you decide to do. You have a talent for writing, remember that.
hugs,

Michael, I'm sorry to hear about your dad; loosing someone that close to you is always a huge emotional punch, no matter how long you were expecting it. Do what you need to do to make yourself happy and deal with his death.
After my mom's last bought with breast cancer and the years of pain I was glad that she was not suffering anymore when she died. It hurt terribly that one of my best friends was gone( avoid still there to this day), but it was more hurtful to watch her spirit and body wither away.
Take care of yourself and find as much joy as you can, whenever you can.
I am very sorry to hear of your loss. It has been wonderful to be able to read your witty and observant blog for such a long time.
Best wishes for the future. It would be nice to hear from you again, once in a while. I like the way you write.

Michael, I saw your tweet (I guess that is what a post on twitter is!). I have never used twitter. Saw where you left your job. I am sure it was for a good reason. Good luck in finding a replacement!! Chin up!
It's a nasty business, this whole death thing. Hope it isn't too long before the recent bad memories are drowned out by the all the years of happy ones.
And good luck with whatever you decide to do next.
I am very sorry for your loss. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading your blog but completely understand your decision.
Deepest condolences.
Michael, I was at a funeral last week where a relative read this at the end of his words of remembrance.
However painful it is to bid farewell to one who has died,
once you have done so, you can begin a new relationship with them,
one you can always cherish.
Once you release them from earthly time,
you can embrace them in eternity.
When you release them from the physical dimension,
you can hold them close in a dimension no less real: the spiritual one.
For even though they no longer walk beside you,
they will be even closer.
They will be within you.
And you will not forget them, because you cannot forget them.
They will be as near to you as your own breathing,
and as much a part of you as your own dreaming.
They will exist in you as love.
This is from a book titled "Winter Grief, Summer Grace" by James E. Miller, p.55. I hope you find it meaningful and consoling.
how's it going? u reading this?
