WHAT NEXT !!!

I feel a bit stunned and don't know what to say tonight. What the fuck is gonna go wrong next in my life?

I was summoned to see my Mum and Dad today. When i got there i was told that my dad has got cancer of the oesophagus.
He had been feeling tired and a bit off for a while and had lots of test. We won't know until next week what the treatment will be but there is talk of chemo and an operation.
We talked for two hours about it but i can't remember anything about anything they said. It's all a blur.

FUCK!

Oh, Michael!

*Hugs*

Much love to your Dad and Mum and to you.

I hope they will be able to treat it successfully, and I pray that God will hold you all in his love.

Hello Michael
My wife's mum is having a similarly bad time at the moment, with a not very good prognosis, so I know how you must be feeling. I really hope things work out as well as possible for you and your parents.

Love & best wishes
Sammy B

Michael, what awful news. Make sure you get your parents to ask the consultant lots of questions and perhaps record what he says on a cheap dictation machine. Your reaction of not remembering precisely what is said is probably the same reaction they're going through and is very common.

Michael,

I am so sorry to hear about your dad. I know it can be a blow to the gut, but you have to stay strong for him. It won't be easy, but you are a very strong individual.

I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

You and your family are in my prayers......I lost my father 10 years ago and I'm still not over it. It is something that I do not want others to go thru. Visit him all you can. I had 10 weeks with my Dad after we found out, it was not enough.

It's horrible having unwell parents. Hope you all get through it with the least possible trauma.

And the oesophagus is so difficult to spell!

Take care.

Sorry to hear this about your Dad. Cancer puts the fear of all thoughts in your head. Be strong & think positive. Not easy to do, but don't give up. It can be cured or slowed down if caught in time. Wait & see what the doctors say can be done first & chances of beating it.

Michael - Just read your blog and news of your dad. All I can suggest is what I did in a similar situation - searched and read everything I could on the subject, asked the right questions, tried to stay informed and therefore positive. Hang in there, my thoughts are with you - PeterD.
